The Salon Idées Japon 2026 is back from Friday 20 to Sunday 22 November 2026 at the Bastille Design Center, on boulevard Richard-Lenoir in the 11th arrondissement. It is a free Japanese-style gift market, just in time for Christmas.
Sixty exhibitors share three floors. Downstairs, food and tableware: sake, tea, miso, mochi, bento boxes, ceramicists. On the ground floor, kimonos, jewellery, stationery and kokeshi dolls. Upstairs, illustrators, calligraphers, printmakers and photographers.
Alongside, 16 paid workshops need booking: kintsugi (gold repair of broken ceramics), sumi-e ink painting, Christmas origami, temari balls, seal carving, manga drawing for teens. Expect €30 to €69 depending on the workshop, booked directly with each teacher.
Last year the organisers saw a long queue, so this year some time slots are kept for newsletter subscribers. Going at opening time helps too.
Open 12pm–7pm all three days. Bastille Design Center, 74 boulevard Richard-Lenoir: Metro Richard-Lenoir (line 5) or Saint-Ambroise (line 9).
