The Alsatian Christmas market at Gare de l'Est returns from 2 to 18 December 2026 for its 44th edition, under a marquee on the station forecourt, on the rue d'Alsace side, in the 10th arrondissement. Entry is free.
The idea hasn't changed: around fifteen producers and craftspeople come up from Alsace, the region on the German border, with what they make. You'll find bredele (small Alsatian Christmas biscuits), gingerbread, kougelhopf (a ring-shaped brioche cake), Munster cheese, charcuterie, foie gras, fresh pasta, wines, crémant (sparkling wine) and fruit brandies, plus Christmas decorations. Names announced for this edition include Domaine Jean Becker, Fortwenger, Distillerie Meyer, Pâtisserie Oster and Tante Germaine.
This is a producers' market rather than a village of wooden chalets: the stallholders sell what they make directly, with no middleman. Good for your Christmas food shopping, and for a bag of bredele for the train.
It's open daily from 9am to 7:30pm, and from 10am to 7pm on Sundays (hours reported by Sortiraparis; last year the market opened at 9:30am on weekdays). Metro Gare de l'Est (lines 4, 5, 7) or Château-Landon (line 7): the marquee is right in front of the station.
