Paris Games Week, France's biggest video game show, is back at Paris Expo Porte de Versailles from 22 to 25 October, during the autumn school holidays. This 15th edition is called the Playground Edition: through the show's app, your visit turns into a game, with stages to clear, badges to collect and prizes to win.
The core idea stays the same: you come to play games before they are released. Capcom brings Monster Hunter and its Street Fighter Academy, Ubisoft has a stage with Rayman Legends Retold and Just Dance, and the Game France pavilion lines up more than 30 French studios. On 22 and 23 October, Monster Hunter producer Ryozo Tsujimoto meets fans at the Capcom stand.
There is plenty around it. A LAN area hosts phase 2 of Project Blender, a Valorant tournament with a €100,000 prize. The video game museum run by the MO5 association fills 400 square metres with vintage consoles for Zelda's 40th and Pokémon's 30th birthdays. A cosplay contest takes place on Saturday, and the PGW Family area is made for visits with children.
A day ticket costs €29, €20 for ages 8–25, free under 8; the two-day pass is €50 (€34). Doors open 9.30am–7pm. Three separate evening shows at the Dôme de Paris, next door, have their own tickets.
