Printemps Haussmann Christmas windows: cats, mice and a giant ball of wool

The 2026 Christmas windows at Printemps Haussmann, the department store at 64 boulevard Haussmann in the 9th arrondissement, are announced from Thursday 5 November 2026 to 3 January 2027. They are called "Un Noël bien tricoté" (a well-knitted Christmas) and are the first of the big Paris stores to be unveiled, a week before Galeries Lafayette next door.

The story, as the store tells it: a curious cat pulls the thread of a huge ball of red wool and drags other cats and a gang of mice through a house. Each window is a room: the attic with giant knitting needles, the corridor of family portraits, the conservatory turned weaving workshop, then everyone around a knitted Christmas tree.

Printemps lists 160 characters made and embroidered by hand, with seamstress Valérie Cuter and puppeteer Sylvain Dulucq. About ten of them were embroidered by Atelier Montex, a Paris embroidery house founded in 1949. The store also says its ice rink is coming back, with no dates yet.
