Rimpei Yoshikawa has run Pignon, a small bistro in Shibuya, Tokyo, since 2010. The name comes from François Pignon, the hero of the French comedy Le Dîner de cons, which tells you how much he loves France. From 6 to 17 October he takes over the kitchen at La Cave Paul Bert, a wine bar in the 11th arrondissement, at the invitation of Bertrand Auboyneau, owner of the Bistrot Paul Bert next door.
On the menu: small plates between France, Morocco and Japan. Homemade tagliatelle with ceps and dashi, a homemade merguez burger, octopus ceviche in bonito broth. You drink natural wine picked from the shelves around you.
Service starts at 5pm. There is no booking, and the Cave is much smaller than the bistro next door, so come early or wait on the pavement.
Last night is Saturday 17 October.
