La Défense Christmas market is back under the Grande Arche

The La Défense Christmas market is back on the Parvis, the esplanade of the business district just west of Paris, from 12 November to 31 December. It's the biggest in the Paris region: 300 wooden chalets lined up between the towers, with the Grande Arche as a backdrop.
You go for the cinnamon, the hot chocolate and the fairy lights that come on from late afternoon. Between rows of crafts and decorations, you can sort your presents without setting foot in a shopping centre.
Le Sommet, the party area, goes into extra time until 3 January. On Fridays and Saturdays everything stays open until 11pm: the best slot to dodge the lunchtime crowds.
Entry is free. The 2026 programme of entertainment isn't out yet, but the dates and opening hours are official. Metro line 1, RER A and E and tram T2 all stop at La Défense - Grande Arche.
