Amine Habki was born in Nantes in 2000, graduated from the Beaux-Arts de Cergy art school, and this is his first solo show. At Mennour, on rue du Pont-de-Lodi in Saint-Germain, he embroiders men in transit: sitting on the metro, head against the window, staring into space.

The canvases are stitched by hand in saturated thread: pink, orange, midnight blue. Up close, you see the stitches, the loops of wool, the layers of fabric. From a distance, it could be a photo taken at 11pm on the last RER, the suburban express train.

In the middle of the rooms, crouching wire figures wear translucent butterfly wings. The title comes from the London Underground announcement, and the names of the works sound like a late-night playlist: “My vape tastes like Pepsi-Cola”, “Je dormirai pas à la maison” (I won't sleep at home).

It's free, Tuesday to Saturday, 11am–7pm. Get off at Metro Odéon or Saint-Michel. You have until Saturday 3 October.
