Until 17 October, the Heureux les Curieux shop on rue du Pont aux Choux, in the upper Marais, is handed over to six designers you have not heard of yet. They come from the first class of AZ Academy, the programme set up by the luxury group Richemont in Milan, in the wake of designer Alber Elbaz, and these are their first collections on sale.
Six wardrobes with nothing in common. Brais Albor cuts menswear that plays with proportions. Merle Breuker builds modular pieces from European fabric offcuts. Sandra Jao works with technical materials, Liwen Liang with ceramics you can wear, Manon Marcelot with leather goods inspired by farming, Caterina Moro with prints taken from natural shapes.
The best part: they make things on site. Patterns cut live, embroidered patches, small leather goods assembled as you watch, and a kintsugi (gold-repair) workshop on ceramics with Liwen Liang.
Entry is free. Take metro line 8 to Saint-Sébastien-Froissart, and go before 17 October.
